What Is A By-Election?

In this section
  • What Are SU Elections?
  • What Is A By-Election?

A by-election is an election used to fill a vacant officer position in between our usual yearly election period.

By-elections are run the same as any other election and will include the usual nomination, campaigning, and voting periods as you would expect. The only difference you will notice is, usually by-elections attract a lower level of engagement from students due to there naturally being a lesser number of active candidates campaigning around campus.
