Congratulations on making it to Newman.
As we are now fast-approaching the start of Welcome Week, it is important to sit down and think about what you will need to bring with you but also what is available for you to do during this time.
Things to remember for Welcome Week and Freshers' Fortnight:
- Make sure you have your timetable downloaded to your calendar. It makes it so much easier to see which days and times you are in throughout the week.
- Come to our Freshers Fayre (Tuesday 19th September) to see what opportunities are available for you to take part in such as Societies and becoming a Course Rep and best of all get some freebies!
- Stay hydrated as they are long days and it is important to ensure you eat and drink lots before attending our evening events.
- BUY A FRESHERS WRISTBAND! This enables you to get entry to all of our events throughout the two weeks.
- Meet and speak to as many people as you can – this makes settling in a lot easier and gives you a sense of belonging.
- GET INVOLVED! Taking part in as much as you can during this week is vital as you can find out what you enjoy but also find out what you don’t
- It is okay to not know what you want – it might be your first ever time at a University and it is daunting. If this is the case, speak to someone you feel comfortable with as you are not alone!
