The Newman Students' Union Advice Service offers support in four main areas of academic casework. We cannot provide specific advice on areas such as Finance or Student Housing. If you approach us with a query that we are unable to assist with, we will signpost you to relevant organisations, or the University department that may be able to help you with this.
Academic Misconduct
Where you have been accused of Plagiarism, Self-Plagiarism or Collusion.
Complaints
Where you have a complaint using the University Processes (University or Student Complaint).
Appeals
Where you would like support to appeal against a decision or assessment.
Mitigating Circumstances
Where you need to apply for additional support to complete an assignment, due to a personal issue which has affected your ability to complete your work.
Advice Resource Hub
We recommend that you use our "Advice Resource Hub" before contacting an advisor. Here we have lots of information and self-help guides where you may be able to find the answer to your question quickly and easily. You can access the Advice Resource Hub by clicking here.
