Newman Students’ Union is committed to ensuring that its staff are well supported, that they are well at work, and that their development needs are put at the heart of our working practices.
Working in a small community environment means that our staff are e a close-knit team, where everyone is involved in decision-making and leading the Union. We work hard, not just for our students, but for each other and thrive on supporting our colleagues.
There are some fantastic benefits to working at Newman Students' Union:
Flexible Working and Wellbeing Hour
NSU operates a flexible working policy. While we are a student-facing organisation and value seeing our members, we are always open to part home-horking arrangements. We also consider reasonable adjustments to work around family life. Every staff member also has one hour per week to spend on their wellbeing, whether that’s a walk or simply a breather away from the desk.
All staff members are automatically enrolled into our NEST Pension scheme with 3% employer contributions.
Annual Leave and Newman ‘Good Days’
On top of our generous offer of 30 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)for all staff at all levels, we offer staff a further three days leave at their manager’s discretion. These have previously been used as Mental Health Days, children’s birthdays or their first day at school.
