Dear {firstname},

If you’re a new student and you’ve been wondering why you haven’t heard much from Newman Students’ Union yet – we’ve been trying to reach you!

Unfortunately, a technical issue affecting the transfer of new student information to the Students’ Union from the University has meant that the emails we’ve been sending you over the last few weeks haven’t been reaching you. It has also prevented new students from logging into our website to buy tickets and merchandise, join societies or use Your Say.

The good news is that the issue has now been identified – and there is still plenty of Welcome Week left to enjoy.

Most importantly, Newman Night Out is TONIGHT!

This is our biggest event of Welcome Week and one of the highlights of the year. If you haven’t bought your wristband yet, now is the time to get involved. Whether you’ve already met loads of people this week or you’re still finding your feet, it’s a great opportunity to meet other Newman students and be part of the Welcome experience.

And now that you can access the SU website, you can also:

• Join a society – if you met a society at Tuesday’s Welcome Fair, you can now sign up online.
• Get your Newman merchandise – including our hoodies, clothing, bags and Welcome Packs.
• Book Welcome events – there is still more happening throughout the rest of this week.
• Use Your Say – our student feedback platform where you can tell us about your experience and the things you want to change at Newman.

We’re really disappointed that this issue meant we couldn’t communicate with you properly during your first few weeks at Newman. A huge amount has been planned for your arrival, and we want to make sure you get the opportunity to experience it.

So, come and see us, join something, grab a ticket, and make the most of the rest of Welcome Week.

And if you haven’t met us yet – welcome to Newman Students’ Union. It’s great to finally be able to reach you!
