Hey everyone,

Halloween is creeping up, and we’ve got a bunch of events to get you in the spooky spirit!

We’re kicking things off on Monday 20 October with All Hallows Movie Night hosted by Movie Society from 6-9pm in ST002. Come along for some classic Halloween cinema, get comfy with your friends, and enjoy a cozy evening in with a few snacks.

Then on Tuesday 21st, get ready to swap your lecture notes for your knowledge notes because our Halloween Trivia Night is just around the corner and it's our first big event of the year!! We’re inviting you to join Friends after Five for The Ghoulish Gathering: a night of spooky questions, brain-bending horror movie facts, and maybe even a few ghostly history queries. It’s the perfect chance to prove your team is the ultimate master of all things creepy and cool. Plus, we've got some seriously ghoulish prizes waiting for the winning team!

To cap-off your creepy week, we've got a full day of ghoulish get togethers onFriday 24 October. Join us in the Atrium from 11am-2pm for a special Halloween Make Space, hosted in collaboration with the Cooking Society. You can drop in to decorate cookies, relax, and soak up the Halloween vibes before things get wild later on.

That evening, Steel House is hosting What The Butler Saw their Halloween Murder Mystery, which has already sold out! If you missed out, make sure you’re following them, so you don’t miss their next event.

And of course, Friday night is the big one, our annual Halloween Party, Frights and Fantasy at Senses Lounge! Things kick off from 6pm with Happy Hour and themed cocktails created in collaboration with students. Friends After Five will be running a free Scare-Through with live actors, from 7:30-8:30pm, and our always-popular Costume Competition starts at 9:30pm. It’s just £2 to enter, and you could win a £20 Amazon voucher plus Newman SU merch!

Want to set the vibe for the night? Add your favourite tracks to our Halloween Spotify playlist, hosted by Friends After Five.

Want to get involved as a Scare Actor, or as a Competition Judge? Click here to contact Cloudy, Vice-President.

It’s going to be a week full of fun, frights, and festive vibes, so get your costumes ready, bring your friends, and join us for Halloween at Birmingham Newman!
