Student Forum is your opportunity to speak to the Executive Committee and find out what they have been up to, and ask questions about the work they have been doing. Forum has a number of students who are "voting members". Voting members are made up of Student Academic Reps (StARs) and the Chair of every Society (or treasurer in their absence).

As of 2021, any student can now register to become a voting member by emailing the Chair of Forum. This must be done two weeks before the meeting is scheduled.

DATES FOR FORUMS 2022/23

The next Student Forum is Wednesday 25th January 2023, 2pm in CH116.

Other future dates are as follows:
Wednesday 29th March 2023 (AGM)
Wednesday 26th April 2023

REGISTER TO ATTEND STUDENT FORUM

If you are a member of Student Forum, you will receive the meeting information via email prior to the meeting, however if not contact the Chair of Forum and the details will be sent to you alongside confirmation that you are now a voting member.

MAKE A CHANGE: SUBMIT A MOTION

A motion is a proposal that discusses specific change that you want to make, why you want to make it and what difference it will make to the lives of students. It is a formal process where members of Forum vote on the idea. If it passes, it then becomes policy.

The Executive Committee are then accountable to Forum for delivering the outcomes of the motion. Updates are published in the SU What's On email, and on Social Media.

In order to submit a motion, you can use the template below and send it to the chair of forum. Remember, if you are unsure always ask a member of the SU team for help.
