MEGAN BURTON
MEGAN'S MANIFESTO:
Pledge 1 – Supporting Women’s Football In Playing Competitively
My first pledge is to help support the growth of Women’s Football at Newman University. In addition to this, providing the relevant support for women to play competitively in the BUCS League. One way that I am going to achieve this is by increasing the amount of people who attend Women’s Football. I will be doing this by using social media and posters around the University Campus.
Pledge 2 – To Increase Attendance To All Men’s Football Team Home Games
My second pledge is to increase the attendance to all Men’s Home Football Games to support them further in their BUCS league. I plan to achieve this by promoting all fixtures on social media to allow there to be more representation of our Men’s Football Team while creating a larger support base so sports at Newman University increases.
Pledge 3 – To Promote The Women’s Netball Team
My third pledge is to promote the Women’s Netball Team further to help advance the team hopefully getting them to play competitively against other Universities. To do this I plan to get into contact with other Universities to organise friendly matches that can help develop our team while also trying to recruit new players by promoting training sessions and taster sessions to try and get more people involved in sports.
Pledge 4 – Promoting Mental Health Awareness And Where To Find Help
My final pledge is to promote Mental Health Awareness and the places you can get support for issues that you may be struggling with. I aim to promote this by talking to different charities that may be able to provide us with some posters and information boards to put up around the University Campus. I also plan to promote onsite support that students and staff are able to receive to support their wellbeing.

RON (RE OPEN NOMINATIONS)
WHY VOTE FOR RON?
If you are not happy with any of the candidates, you can vote to Re-Open Nominations (RON). RON appears on the ballot, and votes for RON are counted in the same way as those for candidates. If RON is declared the winner after all votes have been counted, the election for that role will be held again. The original candidates are allowed to run again in the new ballot, but it gives the opportunity for new candidates to run. Students may choose to vote RON for one of the following reasons:
You do not need to vote for RON in an election; if you think all of the candidates are better than no candidate, you should not rank RON on your ballot. |
