RAG AND COMMUNITY CANDIDATES

Below are the candidates running for the RaG and Community Officer. Have a read through each manifesto and see who you want representing you next year!

FERN HERBERT

Picture
FERN'S MANIFESTO:

My name is Fern Herbert I’m in second year English and I am applying for RaG and Communities officer.

My promises/pledges:

1. Holding an impactful fundraiser in the academic year, trying to get as many students involved as possible, increasing awareness and advertising the fundraiser to create as much impact as possible.

2. Charity of the Year: I want to continue the work of the previous RaG and community officer by nominating one or two charities to fundraise for throughout the year (one local, one national). In order to do this, I will run an online poll and within the University to get student ideas and make sure that the charities that are selected reflect the interests of our student body.

RON (RE OPEN NOMINATIONS)

Picture
WHY VOTE FOR RON?

If you are not happy with any of the candidates, you can vote to Re-Open Nominations (RON).

RON appears on the ballot, and votes for RON are counted in the same way as those for candidates. If RON is declared the winner after all votes have been counted, the election for that role will be held again. The original candidates are allowed to run again in the new ballot, but it gives the opportunity for new candidates to run.

Students may choose to vote RON for one of the following reasons:

  • They do not think any of the available candidates should be elected.
  • They would rather have more choice and be able to select from a greater number of candidates (not a guaranteed outcome).
  • They have already ranked some candidates, but feel that none of the remaining candidates should be elected.

You do not need to vote for RON in an election; if you think all of the candidates are better than no candidate, you should not rank RON on your ballot.
