WHAT ARE WE DOING?

On Tuesday the 15th and Tuesday the 22nd of February, we will be hosting martial art taster sessions! These will be carried out by Legacy Martial Arts. These will start at 6:30pm and last 1.5 hours.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

In the past couple of years we have had students (predominately female) come to the Students' Union with concerns of their safety. There have been many occurrences across the country where women's safety has been threatened.

Based on your feedback, your Sports & Health Officer Katie has organised for Legacy Martial Arts to provide two taster sessions! Here you will be learning Jeet Kune Do, a type of martial art that incorporates Weston Boxing, Thai, Boxing, Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipino Kali. One of the benefits of training in these is that it can improve your self defence skills.

It is important to remember that these sessions are not self defence classes, but can help you improve your skills should you ever need to use them.

After these tasters, if any students who attended the sessions are interested in training further and taking classes can access their Wednesday sessions for free for a month!
