WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

The LGBTQ+ Society here at Newman, provides a safe and inclusive environment for anyone and everyone regardless of identity. We provide a space to socialise and meet a variety of new people alongside fundraising for LGBTQ+ Charities and Organisations. As well as weekly meetings, we also regularly plan events, such as escape rooms, nights out in Hurst Street and movie nights. Our strong sense of community is what drives us forward as a society, we will strive to help you with any of your struggles, academic or otherwise, throughout your time at university to ensure you get the most out of what Newman has to offer.

This society is waving the pride flag at Newman University!

You can join our society by popping into the Students' Union office, or by clicking here.

A GLIMPSE INTO OUR SOCIETY

Take a look through the slideshow to see what events we've put on, the charities we've supported in the past, and more! Events that we've previously done include a Rainbow Party, Glitter Party, Sconewall: Tea and Scones during LGBTQ+ History Month, 'Gayme Night', Meme Queens: campus meme hunt, Newman Drag Race, and Hurst Street Bar Crawl. We also won Society of the Month in October 2020)!
