Fancy a chilled-out evening, meeting new people and getting a little competitive? Come along to our FREE Welcome Week Board Games Night!

We’ll have a great selection of games to choose from, whether you’re into quick party games, classic favourites or something a bit more strategic. Come with friends or turn up on your own – we’ll help you find a game and some people to play with. This is also a great way to find out about Warhammer 40K Society and Games Society, who are co-hosting the event with Newman SU!

It’s a relaxed, friendly way to meet other students, have a laugh and take a break from the Welcome Week chaos.

Completely FREE – just turn up, grab a game and get playing!

Murder at Newman Manor!

Something sinister is happening at Newman manor, someone is about to become a victim.

Join us for mystery, secrets, suspects and murder, as you work together to solve, Who did it, why they did it and solve the case before the Murderer gets away!

When: 15TH September 2026.

Time: 4-6 PM

Place: Meet at the Students Union.

Bring your detective Skills, your best suspicious face, and get ready for an evening of Murder, Mystery and Mayhem.

Can you solve the murder at Newman Manor.

£4 per person, tickets can be purchased online or in person at the event.

For most people University can be both the most life-changing and stressful experience of their lives. While people experience stress in different ways, we think it’s important that you know how to best deal with it and where to go when it starts to become too much. This mindfulness session will be that opportunity to come into the Students’ Union office and speak to some of our staff on coping techniques and effective signposting to University support services.

You can drop-in at any point between the start and end times. Free

The Newman Students' Union Welcome Fair is your opportunity to find out about the range of activities and services your Students' Union has to offer. Alongside our Societies, Academic Reps, Leadership Positions and Welfare & Support functions, you will have an opportunity to meet other University departments and external companies who all have something to offer you as a student. This event has now become an annual right of passage for new and returning students. Join us for a tour of the best nightspots on Broad Street in Birmingahm City Centre.

Meet new friends studying at Newman or once out in town, party with students from other Birmimgham Universities. Your wristband gives you guaranteed access to the best bars and clubs.

The Night out starts in Senses Bar on campus, transport to Birmingham is not included, but after a short bus or taxi ride into town, where we will carry on the night!

Wristbands £7. Your wristband can be purhcased online and collected from the Union Office from Monday 7th September 10am-4pm.

Meet in Senses lounge from 6pm.
