COMPLAINTS AGAINST A STUDENT OR SOCIETY
NSU have adopted a new "Code of Conduct for Members". It determines what is expected of its members (students) and what complaints will be considered. It also sets out when a complaint should be taken to the University, and what powers that the Students' Union has in terms of sanctions should a complaint be upheld.
NSU encourages students to read the Code of Conduct before submitting any complaints which can be downloaded below. You can also download and read BYE LAW F: Complaint about a Member of NSU.
Once you have read the Code of Conduct, if you feel your complaint falls within our guidelines, we encourage you to complete the form below:

SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT AGAINST NSU
(ORGANISATION, STAFF AND OFFICERS)
This NSU complaints procedure is for complaints against NSU as an organisation, or a member of the team (staff or Officers) by its members, the University, external agencies and members of the public.
All complaints made to Newman Students' Union should be clear on:
1. Why a complaint has been made;
2. If it has been resolved informally first, and if not, why; and
3. How you would like your complaint resolved.
Without a clear view on resolution, we will be unable to help you with you complaint. We also encourage complainants to submit as much evidence as possible using the form below. Please note that you can only upload ONE document, so please put all evidence onto one PDF.
To submit a complaint, please complete the form below. This form is submitted to the General Manager and President who will handle the case. We aim to formally reply within 10 working days. However, due to the size of the organisation, this may take a little longer depending on staff availability and annual leave.
The complaints process can be found in Bye Law G which can be downloaded below:

DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES
There is a separate democratic process for the removal of Elected Officers (Executive Committee Members) and elected Society Officials (Society Committee Members). These are called a "Vote of No Confidence".
A Vote of No Confidence should not be taken lightly, and should only be considered if you truly believe that the person can no longer fulfil their role. If you would like to discuss this option further, please speak to a member of the Union staff team.
