WHAT ARE WE DOING?
From Tuesday the 1st February until Thursday 3rd March we will be collaborating with the Sports Centre to participate in the Brit Challenge! This consists of reaching the target of 2022 miles through any form of exercise, whether it's walking, rowing, or cycling!
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) supports young adult mental health and fitness in the UK through the delivery of their annual BRIT Challenge.
UK universities, colleges, specialist colleges and Students' Unions are invited to participate and hold their own inclusive BRIT Challenge to improve mental health and fitness, all whilst raising funds for BRIT and a second charity of their choice. This collectively powerful approach is integral to the work to support young adult mental health in the short, medium and long-term. And what better day to end it on than University Mental Health Day!
This year the secondary charity will be the RSPCA, which is our charity of the year.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
The annual BRIT Challenge is designed to be completed by individuals working as a team to cover each year's distance (2022 will be 2,022 miles) by either hand-cycling, cycling, wheelchair pushing, swimming, walking, jogging, running, rowing or paddling (canoeing, kayaking or paddle-boarding).
Not sure how to get involved? Easy! The sports centre is at your feet for you to use. We'll also have the spin bike in the atrium Monday - Wednesday (10am - 4pm) every week for you to rake up the miles.
Whether you're on campus or staying at home, all you need to do is record how many miles you're doing! This can be done through the sheets in the sports centre, or by emailing Dom Ridgers.
Don't want to physically participate? If you wish, you can donate through the go fund me page!
