VOLUNTEERING & VIRTUAL VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

Develop your skills and give something back by volunteering online from your phone or your laptop, or go out into the wider community to make a difference!

We are now offering to provide credits as part of the Leadership & Development Programme for Volunteering and Virtual Volunteering Opportunities - for this we're not focusing on the amount of time that you can offer to volunteer (as we know many of you have other commitments!) Instead, we are focusing on the OUTCOMES of your time volunteering. To assess this, we simply ask for a short blog or vlog, explaining how the volunteering opportunity has helped you to develop your employability skills, and what you have learnt from the experience.

Below are a list of opportunities for you to get involved with, however, we accept that you may find your own opportunities, which we are happy to accredit as long as it helps with your development. For more information, please contact the Employability and Voice Co-ordinator on s.moss@newman.ac.uk

Imran Khan Cancer Appeal Student Ambassador Programme is a great opportunity for students to represent the mission of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) in their respective colleges/institutes

Event Fundraising Volunteer
The Ambassadors are expected to actively participate in planning activities and organizing events using strategies popular in their respective educational institutes, such as a charity day, bake-sale, create-and-sell, etc.

Community Ambassador
Our Community Ambassadors play a vital role in representing Imran Khan Cancer Appeal at local events. Speaking about our work and the importance of the funds our supporters raise. As this is a flexible role, we do not ask for a set amount of volunteering time from the volunteers. The number of events you do per month may vary.

HELP HUMANITARIAN ORGANSIATIONS BY MAPPING MISSING LOCATIONS

Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally 'missing' from any map and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts. Missing Maps is an open, collaborative project in which you can help to map areas where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
