Newman Christian Union is a student group united in their conviction that the Gospel is true, and that we are called to believe it, rely on it, live by it, and explain it to others.

1. Aims.
The aims of the Christian Union are:
* To share Christ’s love with others through living by Christ’s example; serving others.
* To build positive relationships with all other students and staff at Newman University College.
* To support other members of the Christian Union, and the college community as a whole.
* To empower people to live life to the max! (John 10:10)
* To remain inter-denominational, welcoming and representing any denomination without being exclusive to one or another. (E.g. Church of England or Baptist) The CU purely focuses on issues that the members feel are of first importance, the truth about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.

* To have fun!

2. Membership.
2.1 Membership conditions.
* Any member of the Newman Students Union holding a valid Activities Card may be a member of Newman Christian Union and may attend meetings and events, regardless of their religious beliefs and values.
2.2 Membership benefits.
* Support from other members of the Christian Union.
* Opportunities to develop spiritually.
* Opportunity to engage with the wider University College community through Christian Union run events.

* All full memebers (i.e. with an Activities Card) are enntitled to training and other opportunities appropriate to their role.

3. Management and structure of the Christian Union.
3.1 Christian Union Committee.
* The committee will be responsible for upholding and encouraging the aims of the Christian Union.
* The committee will consist of 3 members:
a) Chairperson
b) Vice Chairperson/Secretary
c) Treasurer.
