Freshers Fair
Welcome to Newman! The Freshers Fair is undoubtably one of the most eventful displays during your first month at Newman and serves to educate you about University life; it's sports, societies and events.
As a Fresher you are likely to have your own interests carried with you from home. This could be reading, playing football on sunday or going to the movies and our sports and societies try to best cater to the student demographic. Our Sports and Societies will be there to recruit you to their teams for the coming year.
So here's some do's and dont's for Fresher's Fair:
Do ask Questions
This is heavily important because if you don't know what sort of quality you're expecting, what sort of socials you'll be doing, what the vision for the future is then how will you know whether you want to be involved or not.
Don't Sign up for everything
Unless you know you can manage it all ... your degree is important so choose a couple of choice groups that you know will enjoy for the rest of the year.
Do look around
Make sure you see the full range of what's on offer at the Fresher's Fair so you can make the best decision for any of the societies or sports teams that you want to be involved with.
Don't wallflower
It's OK to be nervous during the first week but the best thing about University is meeting new friends that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Please do get involved and choose your path at Newman - our clubs and societies will help you determine where it leads.
